Prolene - the implant surgeon's favorite suture

Non-absorbable - synthetic - monofilament.

Prolene is a monofilament, synthetic, non-absorbable polypropylene suture that has a wide range of applications due to its tissue-friendliness, flexibility and strength.

The absolutely smooth hydrophobic surface glides through the tissue with a minimum of friction. The viscoelastic properties of the thread contribute to increased knot security.

The suture is colored blue for good visibility.

As with all monofilament suture materials, Prolene is sensitive to rough handling with needle drivers and forceps, so some caution is recommended when handling. An excellent option for implant surgery and periodontal surgery.
