In today's dentistry, the integration of technology and the availability of different tools means that our treatments are becoming more predictable. In implantology and prosthodontics, there has been a huge evolutionary leap, both in terms of digital and clinical protocols.
If we look back 10-15 years, implant dentistry has not changed dramatically - the basic principles are still the same. What has evolved is the surgical and manufacturing part of implant protocols, which allows us to achieve better clinical outcomes for patients.

One of the biggest trends right now is digital dentistry. It has shown very good clinical results, with simple workflows, fewer errors and fewer tests - contributing to a smoother clinical environment for both practitioner and patient.
Predictability comes from the correct execution of implant protocols and from choosing the right tools and instruments. Anatomy differs between each patient, and these challenges or limitations can be addressed when the clinician has a versatile selection of surgical instruments.

Digital planning is one of the most crucial steps for success in implant dentistry. Today, technology allows us to plan more accurately and visualize the end result, ensuring that predictability is in line with clinical expectations.
Guided surgery helps to address surgical difficulties, which vary from clinician to clinician. The real challenge lies in matching intraoral scans with CBCT/DICOM files. Designing a surgical guide that truly helps the clinician achieve maximum potential remains challenging in many cases - especially in edentulous all-on-x workflows.

Long-term success depends on how well the implant components respect the biology of the surrounding tissues.
