Aidite Biomic Color Opaque Liquid

Aidite Biomic Color Opaque is a liquid-based system for controlled masking of dark substrates in translucent zirconia restorations. The system is applied to the interior of the restoration prior to sintering and is particularly useful when, for example, an implant abutment, a dark preparation, or a severely discolored tooth risks affecting the restoration’s final color and aesthetics.

Controlled masking in translucent zirconia restorations

Highly translucent zirconia offers excellent possibilities for creating natural and esthetic restorations, but the material’s light transmission can also make it difficult to conceal dark underlying structures. Biomic Color Opaque creates a color-matched opaque layer on the inner surface of the restoration, thereby helping to reduce light transmission from the underlying structure.

Color and opacity can be customized for each individual case by mixing the color liquid, OP liquid, and the system’s diluent in appropriate proportions. The liquid has a penetration depth of less than 0.15 mm, resulting in superficial and controlled staining.

Five color groups

Biomic Color Opaque is available in five shade groups tailored to different restorations:

  • A-OP for shades in the A group
  • B-OP for shades in the B group
  • C-OP for shades in the C group
  • D-OP for shades in the D group
  • W-OP for bleached and extra-light shades

The product line is complemented by a diluent, an indicator solution, and a protective solution. The diluent is used to adjust opacity, while the indicator makes it easier to see brush strokes and ensure even application. The protective liquid can be applied to thin areas, such as cervical margins and thin facial surfaces, to reduce the risk of unwanted penetration.

Designed for the dental laboratory workflow

The premixed liquid is applied evenly to the interior of the cleaned, unsintered zirconia restoration. After application, the restoration is allowed to cure and is then dried according to Aidite’s instructions before being sintered using the program recommended for the specific zirconia material.

Biomic Color Opaque enables dental laboratories to work with translucent zirconia materials even in situations where a dark substrate needs to be masked. The result can be tailored to the substrate, restoration thickness, and desired shade.

Always follow the current instructions for use regarding mixing ratios, application, drying, and sintering.
