Resorbable - synthetic - braided.
Vicryl Rapid is a fast resorbing suture. The chemical structure of Vicryl Rapid is identical to the traditional Vicryl suture (polyglactin 910), i.e. it glides easily without "sawing" through the tissue and is also very knot-resistant. Minimal packaging memory provides excellent handling.
Low molecular weight gives Vicryl Rapid its special fast-resorbing properties.
After 5 days in the tissue, about 50% of the strength remains to be completely gone after 10-14 days.
The suture should be completely resorbed after about 42 days.
