The suture has a coating that prevents flaking and offers a smooth passage through tissue. The chemical structure of Vicryl Rapide is identical to that of the traditional Vicryl suture (polyglactin 910). A low molecular weight creates the unique rapidly-arbsorbing features for Vicryl Rapide.
